10 Things I Hate About Life 2014

Image
10 Things I Hate About Life  is an oddity. The title sounds like 10 Things I Hate About You  but despite it being written and produced by the people who made that movie and having title art that was designed to look the same, it was not a sequel. Filming had started in December of 2012 but was halted when lead actress, Evan Rachel Wood, got pregnant. Filming was planned to continue in December of 2013. Poster art was made, a trailer was screened, it looked like a sure thing. That is until the lawsuits. The film company sued Wood for breach of contract saying the film wasn't finished because of her. Wood however said that she planned on resuming filming November of 2013 but the producers had run out of money and she had not been paid what she was already owed.  Here's the trailer to give you a peek of what it might have been: https://youtu.be/TFgmolA-uxM?si=pctrBDJrB9AUtZ77

The Eagles first album but with Joe Walsh 1972

Image
Back in July I imagined what an Eagles album would sound like in 1982 after they broke up. This one is kind of the reverse: what would their first album be like if Joe Walsh was with them at beginning. Most of it is from The Eagles self-titled 1972 album with a couple of songs from Joe Walsh's Barnstorm album from 1972. I replaced "Early Bird" (which starts with "Early in the morning...") with Walsh's "Birdcall Morning" (which starts "Early birdcall morning..."). I also excised "Take the Devil" to make room for "I'll Tell the World" from  Barnstorm . As usual, here is a link to the playlist:  https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCHnLE0OxajFq-lBRfeJWbwLok1JlN_jC&si=v6HBzjw_xztG_qlQ Enjoy and tell your friends.

update on Jerry Lewis' The Day the Clown Cried

Back on 24th of June 2023 I had a post about The Day the Clown Cried . There was talk that it be screened publicly in 2024. Here is the latest news: Jerry Lewis’ The Day the Clown Cried Won’t Play at Library of Congress – IndieWire

Codename Dragonfly 1969

Image
CQ  is Roman Coppola's Sullivan's Travels . Except instead of taking place when it was made like Preston Sturge's 1941 movie Coppola's 2001 film takes place in 1969 and instead of the protagonist being a screenwriter, it's about a director. Okay, maybe it isn't that much like Sullivan's Travels .       In CQ  Jeremy Davies plays a film editor for a movie being made in Paris called Codename Dragonfly;  part Barbarella  and part Danger: Diabolik . There are many scenes showing how the movie within the movie is being made. Codename Dragonfly  is a movie I would probably watch so here is the DVD cover for this fantastical film. https://youtu.be/xOwLeB2j3p0?si=H_YfQYFQpBhsiKo-

Fleetwood Mac Nightbird 1983

Image
Tensions were known to run high in Fleetwood Mac but from that pressure we got musical diamonds. Between Mirage  in 1982 to Tango in the Night  in 1987 they did not record as Fleetwood Mac but most of them did  record. Christine McVie recorded her self titled album in 1983, Stevie Nicks released The Wild Heart  in June 1983, Mick Fleetwood's I'm Not Me  came out in June 1983 and even though Lindsey Buckingham didn't have an album in 1983 he did release the single "Holiday Road" in June 1983. Mick's album had Christine McVie on keyboards and vocals and Lindsey Buckingham on guitar, keyboards and vocals. I chose "I Want You Back" from that album which Lindsey co-wrote and sings lead, plus Stevie Nicks appears in the music video.  From Christine's album I used "Ask Anybody" with Mick on drums, "Got a Hold on Me" and "The Smile I Live For" which both feature Lindsey doing backing vocals and lead guitar and "The Ch
