MOONLIGHTING music from seasons 3 & 4

     Back in April I posted a soundtrack of the tv series Moonlighting for seasons one and two. I had been disappointed that the official soundtrack was missing certain songs. In choosing songs for the previous volume and this volume I realized how hard it is to choose what should be included considering the depth of great music used on the show. The original soundtrack had "Since I Fell for You" which, I believe, was recorded for the series and is used in a pivotal scene. However, I was surprised that Billy Joel's "Big Man on Mulberry Street" wasn't included since it was not only used as a centerpiece in an episode, but the episode was even named after it. I also wanted to include Sam the Sham and Pharaohs' "Wooly Bully" which was humorously used in the last scene of the final episode of season four.

    Umm, maybe you *meant* to post it, back in April, but using every tag you have attached to this post brings up no such post for a rejiggered Moonlighting soundtrack, which would be nice since somewhere I still have it ON CASSETTE and I think I actually found the CD eventually, and probably due to complicated licensing fees, is why the official one is spare overall...

    For an old fogey like me LOL, reminds me of the series WKRP in Cincinnati, where if you were lucky enough to live then, when they were going scene to scene at a RADIO STATION you would actually hear the songs being played in the background but they were there, but when home video came about, they had to trim as much of that out because of DUN DUN DUUUUN the licensing fees...on an even larger extent of that is why it only took almost a half century to get the Beatles' Yellow Submarine on video and DVD/BluRay.

      I sometimes get a bit lax about adding tags. Thanks for pointing out that I dropped the ball on the previous Moonlighting post, I fixed it.
      When WKRP came out on VHS I remember thinking "What is that music they're using?" That was another series filled with great music.

        Many a person on the internet has come up with "what if The Beatles stayed together" so I was going to avoid this. Years ago, a co-worker and I talked about this idea and, dog gone it, it keeps going through my head, so here we are. Everest was what Abbey Road was going to be called. The Living Daylights with Sam Neill 1987

       With talk of a new James Bond, I thought it was time to do another "man who would be Bond". Last time I talked about American James Brolin auditioning for the part, this time it is New Zealander Sam Neill. Roger Moore yet again did not want to return to the role. Producer Michael G. Wilson, director John Glen, Dana and Barbara Broccoli were impressed with Neill's screentest and wanted to cast him , however Albert "Cubby" Broccoli disagreed. Pierce Brosnan was also considered but didn't get the part until 1995's GoldenEye.       The theme song could have been different as well. Instead of a-ha, it was almost Pet Shop Boys. The Beatles - Live at Madison Square Garden

       After 1975 John Lennon wanted to spend more time with his son Sean and less time with The Beatles but that didn't mean there wasn't a new album in 1976. After recording Blast From Your Past , McCartney suggested a tour again. They settled on one live performance at the end of 1975 in New York City so John could go back to the Dakota afterwards. In this alternate reality a live album of the event would released in 1976.      In reality, John joined Elton John at Madison Square Garden for three songs on 28 November 1974. All three songs can be found on disc three of the Lennon  box set from 1990. Paul played the Garden with his band Wings in May of 1976. Selections from the tour were on the triple album Wings Over America . George Harrison played with Ravi Shankar at the Garden in December of 1974.
